Tomm Becker
Operator, farm planner, and systems builder
Tomm Becker is an operator, farm planner, and systems builder with deep experience in agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing, and field execution. His work focuses on helping farms, institutions, builders, and physical-world businesses turn complex projects into clear plans, workable systems, and durable operating capacity.
Twenty years of field execution
Becker spent ten years operating a successful year-round diversified vegetable farm with 15+ acres in production. He also served as Production Manager at the MSU Student Organic Farm, where he directed farm production and helped train beginning farmers through the Organic Farmer Training Program.
His farm development work includes helping build the Tilian Farm Development Center, a farm incubator created to support beginning farmers, and advising several farms through that program that went on to long-term success. He also served for years on the Ann Arbor Township Farmland and Open Space Preservation Board, working at the intersection of agriculture, land use, and farmland preservation.
He later spent seven years as the operating executive at Nifty Hoops, helping grow the company from a regional high tunnel installer into a national manufacturing, logistics, sales, and construction operation. In that role, Becker was responsible for overseeing project planning, procurement, production, pricing, sales, scheduling, logistics, installation, customer support, finance, and field execution.
Two million square feet of high tunnel construction
Across his career, Becker has directed roughly two million square feet of high tunnel construction and helped farmers, institutions, and field-based companies solve the practical problems that sit between vision and execution: land, labor, materials, budgets, weather, infrastructure, people, and time.
Becker Systems Group was built to bring that experience to farms, manufacturers, builders, institutions, and local enterprises that need grounded planning, operating discipline, and practical support for real-world work.
